Cub Sports

The final event of the 2007-8 session took place on Friday 16th May 2008 at Ballyclare Rugby Club
in almost perfect weather conditions and a big turn out of Cub Scouts and interested adults.
Following the various events which included, for the first time, a skipping race, the District Shield was retained by 1st Jordanstown.
The new Tug-o-War cup was convincingly snatched by 1st Islandmagee Pack who easily defeated their seven opposing teams.
It must be the country air!
There were several distinguished individual performances notably:
- Jordan from 1st Jordanstown,
- Wesley from 1st Monkstown
and Fione from 1st Whitehead.
As usual the event was well organised by the 4th Carrickfergus team ably marshalled by CSL Brian Patton,
supplemented by various District Leaders.
Thanks are due to Ballyclare Rugby Club for providing an excellent venue.
Could be the home of future Cub Sports for years to come?

Finally -

thank you to all District Cub Leaders and others
who have worked hard throughout the year to ensure events for the Cub Section passed off successfully
through mainly fair weather and foul. Next up the District Night Hike 2008.
