Joining the Movement in 1943 with 1st Woodgreen Scout Troop Harry went on to serve as Assistant Scout Master/Scout Master
in 3rd Newtownards Troop from 1948 to 1958 when he moved to become Scout Master/Leader of 1st Jordanstown.
Since then Harry has served the Movement as Assistant District Commissioner, District Commissioner and County Commissioner for Antrim.
For the last fifteen years he has led South East Antrim Scout District as President; a position he continues to hold.
The dinner in the Clarion Hotel, Carrickfergus was attended by former members of the Troops associated with Harry
along with various District, and County Commissioners. The esteem in which Harry McClintock is held was evident by the attendance
of the present Northern Ireland Commissioner, Mr Wilfred Mulryne accompanied by the United Kingdom Chief Commissioner, Mr Wayne Bulpitt.
So happy 80th birthday Harry – no longer a boy - but the Scout lives on.
