Just to give you some background, over the last 12 months or so, a small project team has been working on compiling a database of programme ideas for the Beaver Scout age group, which goes under the heading of NIBS - Northern Ireland Beaver Scouts.

At present, there are 60 topics, however the intention is that as the programme rolls out, more ideas will be submitted. Programme topics include Chinese New Year, St Patrick, Eco Recycling and Mother’s Day and when you select one of these topics on the website, you will find a selection of games, activities and crafts. In short, your meeting is planned from start to finish. It is purely optional, however, and you can pick and choose which activities you want to use. There will also be information advising you which badge and/or challenge requirements are being met.

Currently, the profile of the database is being raised at District meetings, with the intention it will go live just prior to recommencement of Beaver meetings in September 2008, therefore giving you time to incorporate the ideas into your 2008/2009 programme.
